Ok!
After all the chicken coop bickering and squawking for two weeks, and bartering and bargaining at the UN bazaar, the world came to the inevitable conclusion the rest of us already new, specifically, that the world had to move against Gadhafi and move fast if another genocide due to UN stagnation was to be prevented. Let’s have a round of applause for the overpaid under worked, underperformed and overrated UN diplomats. After hundreds of deaths and thousands of injuries in Libya, that dinosaur of an institution called UN finally agreed to act. I hope it’s not too late. The way I see it they (UN) have their work cut out for them. As of last night the Gadhafi forces had the last bastion of resistance - Benghazi -surrounded and tanks were already wreaking havoc inside the city. Thousands of people leaving the city trying to escape the massacre that has befallen them in the hands of a lunatic. A lunatic whose hand not so long ago was being pontifically kissed by Berlusconi, his petrol dollars were financing Sarkozy’s political campaign while whip creaming English oil executives and buying political influence in the British and Scottish parliaments. Indeed, the devil who was lubricating European political assholes not that long ago, is now the devil those same assholes wants to blow…blow up that is…as in blow-up with missiles…meaning the missiles themselves will blow him off…up…away…whatever…you know what I mean. The victims of course in all this cross-contamination are no other than the Libyan people who for forty years had to endure the inhumanity of a regime determined to keep them subjugated, oppressed repressed and poor, while Gadhafi and his inner circle of family and cronies were living it up globetrotting in luxury and grossly indulging in materialism…real Islamic values. As I said at the beginning…I hope it’s not too late. If Gadhafi manages to entrench his forces and death squads inside Benghazi I don’t see how the Western coalition forces can conclude their mission without putting troops on the ground and possibly engaging in a prolonged war of attrition waiting for Gadhafi to run out of troops, equipment and money. One has to wonder, is Gadhafi a desert Rat or a desert Fox?
