Israel’s Choice is Simple: Permanent Peace or Permanent War.

The ‘in your face’ attitude of the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has to stop. His Nazi like behaviour is starting to piss off even the staunchest supporters of Israel like myself. Americans and Europeans, in fact the whole world, are getting fed up. The Israeli policies and intentions regarding settlements need to be clearly defined and presented to the Israeli electorate in a clear and transparent way for a clear and unambiguous decision. It is high time the Israeli people put an end to the Israeli government’s lip service.

If the Israeli people decide to follow the road Mr. Netanyahu and his fascist accomplices are on, then they should bear the consequences of their decisions. If that is the path they choose to be on…no problem. However, that being the case, Israel and her people no longer can expect the same unconditional support of the Europeans and Americans as they have enjoyed for the last 65 years. The Western countries will have no choice but to re-think, re-assess and
re-calibrate their foreign policies to fit the behaviour of the State of Israel. The Israeli people have a choice to make. A choice between a policy of peace and a policy of perpetual unrest and violence.

The American tax payer is presently subsidizing the Israeli war machine in the tune of $3 billion per year. In the current shape of the American economy I don’t think this can continue nor can it be justified to the American people; especially when Netanyahu style of intransigence does not show any signs of receding or improving.

The western leadership and more specifically the American government should make it perfectly clear to Mr. Netanyahu and his right wing Gestapo Party; that unless they stop this extremist “in-your-face” attitude towards the peace process, the consequences will be theirs to bear and theirs alone. Embarrassing American politicians and diplomats [as happened with VP Biden] who are there to negotiate a peace treaty –and may I add, at the request of the Israelis – is not a sensible idea.

There is no doubt that militarily speaking the crazies of Hamas, Hezbollah and the other fringe parties in the Palestinian camp are no match for the Israeli military machine. But then again, one has to ask, how long are the Israeli people willing to continue to suffer casualties –a few dead here and a few dead there? How long are they willing to watch their citizens being killed by a rocket here and a rocket there? A suicide bomber here and a suicide bomber there?

Palestinians have proven to be as resilient a people as the Israelis. They are a determined people, who are constantly chiselling away at the Israeli society a chip hear and a chunk there. Remember how the Berlin wall fell. Started with a chisel. A chip here and a chunk there until it came crumbling down. The world eventually said “enough is enough…” to communism. I think they are about to say “…enough is enough…” to Israel. I hope my Jewish friends you make the right decision and prove me and many like me wrong.

  2. Very well said. My first time on this blog. I shall revisit. Definitely something has to be done to stop the killing in that region of the world. Both side have to stop doing things that hinder the success of peace. It's wrong.

  4. Finally people are starting to realize that the Israelis do not really want peace. That's one concept which has only political value for the Israelis. By that I mean that the Israelis only show short term interest in peace only when it benefits their political gains and propaganda in winning international sympathy. Unfortunately this is the Mid-East reality. Peace is the Mid-East illusion.

  5. I guess H. Clinton and Biden and Obama are really pissed off with the Israelis. About time I say. I hope they get tough with Netanyahu and give him an ultimatum. "you are either with us or you are against us". Now that should bring back memories.

  9. This has nothing to do with Jews. This is about Israel and her policies of settlements construction. There are Jews living all over the world. We are not all Israelis and we do not all agree with the policies of Mr. Netanyahu and his government. So I don't see this as an anti Jewish article. Only Jews who live inside the fantasy of their own illusion that we are Gods chosen people.

  10. I couldn't agree more with the last comment. I am a Jew living in NY and I can tell you behind closed doors and away from the need to show public solidarity, we all agree with the article and the comments. We have been putting the world on a guild trip for 75+ years. It has reached a point where if our friends and allies tell us we are doing something wrong they cease to be our friends. That has to end. We as Jews have to start doing some soul searching or we will have no friends left any where.

I don't think we want that.

  14. I am not a Jew but I agree with everything said. I am an American tax payer and I am out of a job. If the writer of this article is correct then I am not a happy camper knowing that I am about to lose everything while 3 billion dollars every year go to Israel to maintain a war machine. I think that's wrong and I think most Jewish people think that's wrong.

  15. Time to have peace in the middle east. Arabs and Jews have a common enemy now. One who is bound and determined to bring on the apocalypse. It's Iran and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The mad man from Hell will not rest until he reestablishes the Old Persian Empire. So let's have peace with the Palestinians and the Arabs and focus on IRAN!

  16. Here is a simple solution.

The Europeans and the Americans inform Netanyahu that they are withdrawing from the peace negotiations and also they are stopping the economic and military aid to Israel. Let them know that as of this day forward Israel is on her own, and can negotiate and do what ever they want. U.S.A and Europe will not be involved any more. END! Then sit back and watch how quickly Netanyahu and his cronies start dismantling the settlements and come to an agreement with the Palestinians.

We are all tired of the Netanyahu BS. I want my tax dollars to be helping Americans who are in dire economic straits right now. NOBODY else.

  23. I think people are sick and tired of this Israeli/Palestinian issue. It sucks the energy out of the planet. Either force both parties to agree to a piece settlement or let them kill each other until there all done. Just like the good old times of antiquity.
Enough. We have our own problems here on American soil and we are supposed to be solving Middle East problems? If they are stupid enough to be killing each other, so be it. Let them.

  24. From Bloomberg

White House senior adviser David Axelrod today called the announcement “an affront” and “an insult” that “seemed calculated to undermine” peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians. It was “not the right way to behave,” he said on ABC’s “This Week” program.

If more Gov. Officials strongly condemn Netanyahu, then we may get somewhere.

  25. The thing that annoys me about that re-incarnated little Hitler called Netanyahu is his arrogance and pathetic way of justifying his political blunders.

His response the preemptive announcement of the approval to build 1600 new housing units in East Jerusalem on Palestinian land was a short statement saying it was harmful and unfortunate. Nothing about reversing that decision or labeling it as gross injustice. If one can read between the lines, all he is saying is that the only reason it is harmful and unfortunate is because it was announced during Biden's visit. It would have being more to his style if it was announced after Biden had left.

Like Dr. P said. enough is enough. Time to let the Israelis fix their own mess, with their own money.
