Q: What do you get when you take the death of a super star and mix it in a cup of media greed?
A: A media orgasm!
What do I think of this frenzied media manipulative reporting of MJ’s death? I think it’s all about money. BIG money. And if anyone thinks that the producers, participants, reporters and news networks who partook in this media circus; did it in memory of Michael’s life or because they care about his career and musical accomplishments- well, if anyone thinks that, I have some swamp land in Florida I want to sell you.
Good intentions and sincere expressions of love, respect and admiration, do NOT need a 13 day stage planning and orchestration of events splashed on every television screen like a Hollywood theatrical production. And believe me, orchestrated it was. Everything from the casket to the black glasses and silver gloves the brothers wore, to the performances and walks down memory lane recited by music artist, who not so long ago had avoided MJ like a leper. Where were all these people when Michael was going through all his troubles and tribulations? Where were they? How many stood by him and gave him a helping hand, a single word of support? How many of these hypocrites loved him as a human being in need of compassion? Loved him just for being a human being whose life had become less than perfect. Where were they? Ahh…but they were all there under the bright lights of his death. What a chance to be part of history in making. What a chance to be seen by an estimated one billion people around the globe! Think of the $’s the producers are making out of this poor man’s demise. Think of the $’s they will make by marketing his life and his death.
After all is said and done and the black limos are gone, the money vultures will start circling above, as they smell the prey. They will use MJ’s life and death story to fill their pockets. They will have all become MJ’s best friends with a story to tell. Interviews, magazines, shows, documentaries, memorabilia marketing and on and on the list goes. This is nothing but a syndication of Michael’s death, with greed, as always, being the motivating factor. Think of the hundreds of millions if not billions of dollars that can and will be made through the marketing of this man’s death. Think of it and then convince me that these people are not hypocritical greedy bastards.
The lid is off Michael Jackson’s “honey jar” and the “finger dippers” are lining up for the taste. The people who really cared for this guy, people like Elizabeth Taylor and Dianna Ross stayed away. They knew what the right thing to do was…So did I.
This Again This Is Not News….It’s Jungle Politics

I am surprised nobody commented on this one Kong! It is so true. That's exactly how I felt about the media circus but I thought I better not say anything not wanting 2 b seeing as a racist.
ReplyDeleteYou are right. It is all about money. The problem I think it's because as Americans we have come to have such a low self esteem about ourselves and our nation and how the rest of the world perceives us, that right now anything which allows us to self indulge and give ourselves a pat on the shoulder, makes the whole country feel good.
Having said that, good job. Another good posting.
