My brother spent six months stationed at Fort Knox with the Virginia Mountaineers 5th Battalion. He returned with stories that all that was stored there were wooden bricks painted gold. I thought he was crazy, now I'm not so sure any more.

Believe it or not I tried to find out why the major networks did not run these stories. You think I got an answer? NO! They like to give you that "we'll look into it" line, and never get back to you. I follow the news as they happen everywhere in the world, on line and on television. For some reason these stories were totally ignored by our Networks. They were never aired- at least not to my knowledge. Maybe they were reported and I just missed them. Nahh...I don't think so. Suspicious you say? You damn right it is suspicious. Will anything come out about them? Probably not.

Great blog, I'm a regular visitor but I'd have to agree with Mike. I can understand why not having the gold we think we have would be a huge problem but the bond story was totally over my head. What does it all mean? Some insight would be very appreciated.

ReplyDeleteTo simplify things and without going into too much of a confusing detail, a treasury bond is like an IOU issued by the government to a lender. It is a way for the government to obtain cash it doesn’t have but needs, for various reasons i.e.: to finance a war, social programs, natural disasters or pay for “high end “ hookers to entertain our troops in Iraq. Just joking on the last one.
Bonds are very secure income instruments as they are backed by the government.
So when you hear that our government borrows $ from China, what it is actually doing is issuing IOU notes to the Chinese in the form of a bond. In other words we (our government) are saying to the Chinese, if you give us let’s say a trillion $’s we will promise to pay you back at some future day with a predetermined % of interest. Of course the danger in that scenario is that if the Chinese get pissed off at us, they can demand their $ back and then we are screwed. Big time screwed, as we are obligated to come up with the cash we didn’t have in the first place. It’s fun isn’t it?
Now- a Bearer Bond (not legal since 1982) is the same as the IOU idea, only it’s owned and can be cashed by any one who holds it. It’s not registered to ANYONE in particular. So whoever holds it, he legally owns it. You can see how complications can arise from the $134 billion dollar bond story. Since we stopped issuing Bearer Bonds since 1982, technically speaking, there shouldn’t be any of these bonds outstanding anywhere. If the bonds the Italians confiscated are real…???...??? it would mean that some previous administration issued these bonds UNDER THE TABLE as we say- which is illegal. Hmmm! Starting to get complicated right? To make things worst, if they are cashed in, then we have to come up with $134 billion at a time when we don’t have a pot to piss in. I am sure you get my drift.
Now consider what can happen if some of our not so trustworthy “friends”, are actually issuing these kinds of counterfeit bonds with such high quality and high quantity. Can you imagine the damage it would do to our economy and how it would undermine the credibility of our government and our currency…that proverbial green buck which we worship so piously, will be taking an one way flush down the financial toilet.
Of course there are more complications and dire implication if the story is true. I hope, however, that you now, have little better understanding of the $134 billion Bearer Bond story

I couldn't have put it better myself. Where the fuck is the press? Important stories like these should be on the front cover of every News paper and every News magazine in the land. They should be head-lined on every major news network and cable channel of every city of every state.. But wait a minute. I am so sorry. I forgot. This would not pump up their ratings…after all it’s only the goddamn welfare of the country we are talking about. The point my friend Stan, is that the media is a dog on the leash of their master-called Mr. Ratings and Ratings=$.
Stories such as the Bearer Bond story would do nothing for their ratings. Of course the other possibility for the informational burial, is simply they have been muzzled by the G-Men. And that's the one I believe.
Jesus Christ, if what Kong is saying is actually a possibility we all need to carry a jar of vaseline because we are getting it up the exhaust pipe. Kong is it possible that this was a covert operation kept below the radar by our own government?
