To say that I am the least surprised at the events in Egypt
would be a colossal exaggeration because I am not. In fact, I had expressed to colleagues long
long ago that the shelf-life of a Morsi government would not exceed six to 12
months.
The current upheaval has been en route to Egypt since Mohamed
Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood conned the Egyptian electorate into giving it
a chance to govern. Like all the Islamic fundamentalist leaders around the
world, Mr. Morsi promised freedom, democracy, protection of human rights and
equality under the law and then turned around and pursued a gradual path to
Islamic theocracy and oppression.
Mr. Morsi’s intentions were from the beginning - to turn
Egypt into an Islamic theocracy modeled on Iran. A carbon copy of Ruhollah
Mostafavi Musavi Khomeini‘s actions in Iran in 1979 and Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s
in Turkey in 2003. That is to say- they hijack the people’s revolution and seized
power by deceit and manipulation of current social sentiment and civil unrest. Then once they were at the helm of power,
they pursued and implemented their own ideology and partisan agenda by any
means available to them. That of course includes violence, demoralization,
oppression and abuse of human rights. It’s what I call the re-engineering of insurrection
and lobotomization of society.
Where Mr. Morsi went wrong, however, is that he failed to
study the methodology of Erdogan and Khomeini before him. The first thing both
Erdogan and Khomeini did once in power, was to replace the upper echelons of the
judiciary and the military with people of their own ideology and choosing. Once they re-engineered and refitted those two
branches, they began the persecution of critical journalists and activist
opposition. When those targets had been achieved the consolidation of their
controls and power was completed and the new Emperors ascended to their throne. Mr. Morsi’s failure to neutralize the opposition
and refit the military, became the catalyst for his current demise. In other words the Egyptian military became
the people’s hand that “hijacked the hijacker”. How more fitting can it get?
Another misstep of Mr. Morsi was the fact that he underestimated
the determination of the Army to intervene in order to protect the secularity
of the Egyptian society. The biggest
miscalculation by Morsi, was that he overlooked the fact that his electoral
success was not because the Egyptian people were endorsing or adhering to his
Salafist ideology but rather because they were rejecting Mubarak’s forty year tyrannical dictatorship.
In the final examination, two things become abundantly
clear. One is, that true Egyptians are proudly connected to
their historic progressive past, a civilization that had become a beacon of
light to the world and two… (well) - they are not really ethnically Arabs. They are Egyptians therefore rejective of the
Arabic Theocratic backward and oppressive misogynous form of Islam, the type so
prevalent in the Gulf States.
The Next to go….Mr. Erdogan.
Signing Off…Dr. Politikong

Muslims becoming suicidal everywhere. Leave them alone to resolve their own problems. Shut the TV and go mind your own business.
ReplyDeleteSpot on Andre S and Anonymous is correct as well. Leave them alone. If the west interferes and take sides the result would be more hatred and violence against us. They should be left to their own destiny. If they can survive as a people so be it, if not I am sure we in the West shall not be dedicating any holidays to commemorate their demise lol

Very logical and informative post Mr. PK. The speed with which events are unravelling in that part of the world I am not sure anyone can do much to stop or reverse their direction. I feel we are looking at the next 10 years of Middle Eastern upheaval, destruction, and violence of levels we have never seen before.
ReplyDeleteAgain very good and insightful blog.

Like the song says "You ain't seen nothing yet". This thing is not going to be over until the fat lady in the hijab sings, and she's not singing yet. The Arab spring was a long one and now the spring is turning into the Arab Winter everywhere. From Libya Tunisia, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt and many more to come. The house of cards called Muslim Arab World is collapsing fast and there is nothing anyone can do. My advise is put the blinders and ear-plugs on and stay out of that part of the world. Let them resolve their issues the way they know best. Killing each other.

It's funny- though sad, how the same Salafist who aligned themselves to a dictator called Hitler back in 1940,are now being killed by the cronies of Mubarak, another dictator who terrorized and persecuted the Muslim Brotherhood in their own country for decades. Ι am sure there are Jews like me who are now thinking "Welcome to my world Mr. Morsi" indeed welcome to my world.
