When a government tries so hard to stop the flow of information the public can have access to...tells me that the government has too much to hide. The embarrassment to the USA from the leaks will be "chicken crap" to quote John Boehner, compared to the public outrage if somehow the Wikileaks are forced off the air. It is becoming quite obvious regardless of the administration’s denials, that our so called diplomats are engaging in spying on their host countries and others. Of course, nothing new or revealing there. People have always known and have always expected our so called diplomats to be involved in “information” gathering activities abroad. All countries do. That’s their job. However, what is not their job is to be undermining and to be interfering in the internal affairs and policies of other countries. The reason our government is having such an uncontrollable diplomatic bowel movements right now, is because in those leaks there is probably information of covert operations and interference in other countries’ internal affairs. And that will not be received as calmly or as “diplomatically” as the descriptive epithets placed upon those other national leaders. Our international image has been on the “toilet detour” since the Nixon administration’s ascent to a “higher morality”. Our government is afraid to let the leaks flow freely because that would give us a real understanding of the underhanded way we do business with other nations and a more clear picture as to why so many people in so many countries hate Americans so much. So big brother is on the warpath once again trying to stop LEAKS from reaching our ears, because we are just too stupid to understand and appreciate the significance of the work our diplomats do. It kind of brings back memories from Argentina, Chile, Guatemala, Cuba, El Salvador and the list goes on and on and on…. We do have this history of sticking our noses where they don’t belong. I for one am looking forward to more wiki releases… I find them very enlightening if not educational.
